‘The Penny’ Wedding Cake

‘The Penny’ wedding cake came about as our weddings became more intimate in recent years.  Suitable for up to 50 guests, this bespoke creation is available in white sponge as standard, with an option to change the bottom tier to chocolate biscuit.  When you decide on your flavour combination, we will use hand made vanilla buttercream to decorate both tiers. The 6” top tier sits crisply ontop of the 8” bottom tier, which we finish in a romantic ruffle effect.  You will find three hand made roses set beautifully from the top tier, cascading down to the base layer.  You’ll also have an option to add a topper to add some fun to your celebration.

We have a variety of cakes in our new wedding collection that are suitable for smaller gatherings, including ‘The Elsie’ and ‘The Lucy’ that might be of interest to you.   These are tall cakes in a range of finishes from glitter sprays to artificial flowers in an array of colours to fit your wedding theme.  They are all available to order online with a couple of weeks notice.  And if you just can’t make up your mind, we’re here to help.  You can call us on 01-8300005 or pop us an email with your questions to info@thundersbakery.ie

You can order ‘The penny’ up to one week before the big day.

Delivery / Collection

You can collect ‘The Penny’ from any of our locations in Dublin free of charge.  Delivery is also possible in Dublin and surrounding areas, but there is a supplement to our standard delivery rates of €30 because this is a tiered cake and delivery requires greater attention than a standard cake.   If you need ‘The Penny’ delivered to a venue, we will need some information from you, including the opening hours of the venue and the contact name and phone number of the person accepting the cake on your behalf.
