OPERATIONS MANAGER @ THUNDERS HOME BAKERY

Thunders Bakery are looking to expand our team. Preferred start date is 1 August 2020.

The Operations Manager will provide support to the team in ensuring Company standards are maintained and that customer expectations are met within the agreed objectives for the location, as may be required for the effective and efficient operation of our service offering.

Who we are?

Thunders Home Bakery Limited is Dublin’s Favourite Home Bakery.  We provide fresh daily produce, including our handmade artisan breads and cakes with our commitment to using local ingredients. In addition, we have a contemporary range including our gluten free cake, unicorn cake and drip cake. Thunders Home Bakery is now online with delivery to homes or businesses.

Thunders Home Bakery was established in 1969 by Mr. and Mrs. Thunder and consisted of a shop and bakery in Upper Drumcondra. In 2008, Sinead & Stephen Heffernan bought Thunders Home Bakery which now comprises off 12 shops, including Crumlin, Finglas, Clontarf,  Upper Drumcondra, Dundrum, Finglas, Phibsboro, Prussia Street, Swords, Rathmines, Coolock, Santry and the Liffey Valley Café.

What will you be doing?

As the operations manager you will be primarily responsible for working with our team on the day to day running of the business of the catering operation, setting objectives, developing and evolving all food services at all location, attending regular team meetings, ensure statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures are met, monitoring the work of all food service staff and carrying out appraisals, recruitment and development, ensuring adherence to company and customer banking and cash security procedures in line with the company policy.

What are we looking for?

• Third Level qualification an advantage
• 3 year’s experience required – it is a distinct advantage to have worked in food businesses however this is not a necessity
• Use of your own initiative and proactive approach
• Good communication skills and attention to detail, proactive, autonomous
• Strong administrative skills proficient in all office packages
• Strong team player

What will the work environment be like?

You will primarily work in Head Office located at 141-143 Rear Phibsboro Road, Devery’s Lane, Dublin 7 with our sales and admin team. We are a small team of four in head office where we work closely together and separately in each of our areas of expertise.   You will visit our other locations in Dublin area on scheduled days to provide them with an on-site support.
