C’mere till I tell ye, Thunders Gluten Free ‘Magical’ Black Forest, is already loved by families throughout Dublin and beyond.  You might find it reinvented and deconstructed around the place, but @ Thunders, we believe some things like provenance are precious.  Thunder’s goes way back, so we’ve improved this cake with a little magic for cake lovers who treasure the taste and flavour of Black Forest Gâteau but now want an inclusive gluten-free option. 

Thunders Gluten Free magical Black Forest Gâteau has been specially created through the wizardry of our confectioners, so we can all enjoy treats and celebrations together.  This is a light chocolate sponge cake soaked in rum flavoured syrup and layered with a luscious dark cherry filling and light freshly whipped cream.  Your Gluten Free Black forest Gâteau is topped with flakes of dark Belgian chocolate and more dark cherry filling.  If you want to make it even more special, you can have your own personal message hand-piped on the top in dark Belgian chocolate. Totally wicked! 

How can I be sure it’s Gluten Free?

Our Gluten free cakes and bakes are produced in a separate bakery where only Gluten free products are made.  Once your cake is ordered we send it to the GF bakery where it is baked, decorated, packed, sealed and labelled for delivery to the location of your choice or directly to you.  We remove any possibility of cross contamination by ensuring that You will always be the first person to break the seal on your cake.  

We send all of our products for lab testing to confirm that they are gluten-free once they are created.  Thereafter, they are routinely sent to the lab to confirm their continued GF status.   Our products have been approved and are listed on the Coeliac society of Ireland’s website.  

What size does it come in?

Thunders ‘Magical’ Black Forest Gâteau, is available online from a 10″ round, which is suitable for 10-12 people.  

How long will it last?

We make our gluten-free fresh cream cakes to order!  We’ll make your cake fresh on the day, and we recommend that you eat it the same day.  You’ll have up to 2 days to finish it off  if it’s not all eaten on the day.  It is important that you store this fresh cream cake in a fridge.  Similarly, it is important to return any uneaten cake to the fridge for eating another time.

How much notice is required?

Our Gluten free celebration cakes are available for collection / delivery Tuesday – Saturday with 2 days notice.   Collect from 11 am from your preferred Thunders Bakery.  Delivery can be up to 2pm on the day if it’s a busy time in the bakery.
